Charlotte - David Michael Winokuer died the afternoon of November 8th, 2020 due to unexpected complications. David was a beloved son of Hy and Sally Winokuer, and a devoted brother to Lisa and Howard.

David graced the world on February 9th, 1952 in the Bronx, NY. He moved to Chapel Hill, NC and received his bachelor’s degree in Eastern European Religion from the University of North Carolina on May 14th, 1995. David loved the Chapel Hill area and went on to receive an Electronics Degree from Durham Tech.

In 1990 he began his career at Nortel as a Systems Engineer and worked there until he retired in 2006. David came back to Charlotte, NC to care for his loving Mother and spend time with his family. David was a gifted, free spirit with a heart of gold that touched so many people with his dry wit and humor. His nurturing personality played a role in his love for cats, nature, cooking and reading. He will be missed by all those who spent time understanding his unique desire to make the world a kinder place.
