Gloria Smith Schwartz

I had a wonderful 35 year teaching career--most of it in CMS. I am enjoying retirement--with 5 grandchildren, a book club for 35 years. I love keeping up with friends from our class. We get together frequently for lunch, dinner, celebrations, and the sad times.

My late husband, Jerry, passed away in 2024.

I have done some travelling with my family and friends.

CONTENT since graduation. Grateful for my life.

I had two very special teacher/mentors at East. Charles Starnes was one. I had the opportunity of spending one period a day for the entire three years with him. That hour shaped my day and showed me how important music is to the depth of my soul.

The other teacher was Ms. Harris (Andy's mom) She was my English teacher for two years and I learned to love literature. I went on to earn a Bachelor's in English as well as a Masters' in English and Writing.

As for the friendships I made there...they are still in my life and we get together regularly.
